Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP)

Purpose: Provides grants to improve energy efficiency in homes.
Eligibility: Available to all domestic electricity customers in Northern Ireland.

Support Includes:

  • Loft and cavity wall insulation
  • Upgraded central heating boilers
  • Heat pumps
  • Solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal systems

Administered By: Energy Saving Trust on behalf of the Utility Regulator.

Toasty Homes Scheme

Purpose: Assists households in replacing or upgrading heating systems.
Eligibility: Households with:

  • No central heating
  • Solid fuel heating
  • Old oil, natural gas, or LPG systems (boiler over 15 years or beyond economic repair)
  • Economy 7 heaters (installed before 2018) or other non-ERP compliant electric storage heaters

Support Includes:

  • Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
  • Solar PV and battery storage
  • Cavity wall and loft insulation
